As designers we have to have empathy and understanding with the clients whose live we work to improve. Sometimes that can be more difficult to achieve than you might think. There are various ways we can improve our understanding and empathy. The Gert suit is just one of them:

The GERT suit is a suit designed to simulate differing needs as health deteriorates. It is used by healthcare professionals to improve their understanding of patients, and used by designers to gain insight into the design needs of people with different abilities.
